James Hambro & Partners takes Citywire Wealth Manager honours

James Hambro & Partners has been named the Best Overall Medium Firm in the Citywire Wealth Manager Investment Performance Awards 2016.

The firm earned the title based on analysis from independent experts Asset Risk Consultants of risk-adjusted performance and consistency of returns over a three-year period.

Citywire, which receives more than 100 submissions to the awards each year, also shortlisted James Hambro & Partners in three out of four risk performance categories – for the balanced managed, growth and aggressive strategies.

Nicola Barber, Partner and Head of Charities, who accepted the award, said: “Achieving outstanding performance in the uncertain investment climate of the past three years is not easy. This award and the shortlistings show that we have managed to succeed in protecting and growing the assets that have been entrusted to us by our clients.

“It is testament to the skill and dedication of everyone at James Hambro & Partners involved in making investment decisions as well as those in support roles who ensure that the process runs efficiently.”

The award comes during an especially busy period for James Hambro & Partners. Growth has prompted a move to bigger offices in Pall Mall and independent financial adviser Regency recently selected the firm to provide core investment solutions for £150 million of client assets.

That deal, along with a number of recent charity mandate successes, means that the firm now has approaching £2 billion of assets under management.

Chief Executive Officer Andy Steel said: “It has been our aim since we launched in 2010 to combine a high level of performance with first-class service and this has proved to be a successful formula as more advisers, charities and individuals are selecting us to manage their assets.”

The Citywire Investment Performance Award is the latest in a string of awards for James Hambro & Partners. It won the Boutique Investment Management category in the Charity Times 2015 Awards and was shortlisted again in the recent 2016 awards.

This year has also seen the company win a gold prize in the balanced category of the Portfolio Adviser Wealth Manager Awards and take the Image and Reputation category at the Private Asset Management awards.
