Anthony is a founding partner of James Hambro & Partners and has been Head of Private Clients since the business started in 2009 until 2022, when he became Deputy Chairman. In 1986 Anthony founded J O Hambro Investment Management (JOHIM) and served as CEO between 2004 and 2007, building JOHIM into a business that managed more than £3bn in assets. Anthony has always instilled into his team the responsibility and privilege that he feels when clients entrust JH&P with their assets. He continues to be inspired by the late sculptor Anthony Caro who introduced him to the art world. From an early age, he was fascinated by his ability to create fluid, versatile and dramatic sculptures using iron girders and scrap metal. He also looks to Joseph Ettedgui, the founder of the Joseph retail empire, for inspiration. He believes his complete immersion into everything he did and, with such modesty, is an incredible example of how success can be achieved. Anthony has a passion for trees and woodlands and, by his own admission, spends too much time with his chainsaw, pruning saws and planting spade. He also enjoys skiing, architecture, Renaissance and contemporary art, farming and the environment.
