Another prestigious award win for James Hambro & Partners
James Hambro & Partners (JH&P) has enjoyed another successful year in the prestigious Private Asset Managers (PAM) Awards, winning the top prize for quality and clarity of reporting (non-custodian) and earning two finalist spots for client service quality and the performance of its growth portfolios.
It is the fourth year in a row that JH&P has picked up a PAM award or nomination.
The judges were unanimous in awarding JH&P the award for its client reporting. They said: “James Hambro & Partners has undertaken to deliver exceptional reporting and has achieved this… All points in our criteria are comprehensively covered, including tax reporting.”
They commended the way the firm has continuously worked to improve reports, including the use of internal and external research to analyse and identify where improvements could be made. They were particularly impressed by the way JH&P tries to give clients a holistic picture of all their assets and what has driven performance within them – known as attribution. This includes assets not being managed by the firm.
The judges said: “Attribution is hard to do if you are not a custodian but JH&P is trying to do it. This was unanimously considered the best entry in this category.”
In the High Net Worth Client Service Quality category JH&P was commended for its very personal service and for encouraging openness with clients. “A very strong submission from a strong firm,” said the judges.
Partner and Head of Business Development Christopher Macklin said: “The PAM Awards are recognised across the industry for the stellar quality of the panel and the rigour with which submissions are judged. Competition for these awards is incredibly tough so to take three finalist positions, including one of the top prizes, is a real honour and a tribute to the hard work of the whole JH&P team.
“The Quality and Clarity of Reporting award is particularly pleasing as we expand our business to encompass clients from the US now that we have authorisation from the SEC. International client reporting can be particularly complex, so it is good to see our hard work paying off. We will not rest on our laurels. We are constantly looking for ways to improve reporting, client service delivery and investment performance. We take the feedback from these awards extremely seriously, and it is very helpful in flagging up ways in which we can deliver an even better offering.”
This is the latest in a series of awards. In October 2017 JH&P won the Charity Times award for Boutique Investment Manager of the Year for the second time in three years.
