Leeds expansion and new senior hires

Wealth manager James Hambro & Partners strengthens Leeds team with new hire and appoints a new head of marketing and UK business development

James Hambro & Partners has added to its team in Leeds with the hire of investment manager Ed Binks from Aberdeen Standard Capital.

Edward Binks, Portfolio Manager

He joins investment managers Aidan Butler and Ed Marsden and client service manager Mark Bonner, who themselves came from Aberdeen Standard Capital – the wealth arm of the Aberdeen Standard Life Group.

Butler said: “It’s been a year since we opened the Leeds office for JH&P – its first regional office. We’re attracting clients from the North and Midlands and it’s a sign of the appeal of the JH&P offering that business is growing strongly despite the constraints of Covid, which has hampered the usual opportunities for meeting new clients. Having worked with Ed for many years I know he will be an outstanding addition to the team. He brings a lot experience and expertise, particularly in the spheres of trusts, pensions and charities.”

Binks said: “JH&P has a distinctive way of doing business that is widely appreciated in the industry. Investment managers work directly with clients and all contribute to the investment process, which creates a powerful collegiate spirit. It’s an independent partnership and clients are the priority. It’s great to be joining and to be working with Aidan and Ed again.”

JH&P has also appointed a head of marketing and UK business development – a new role – in London.

Helen Rynhoud, Head of marketing and UK business development

Helen Rynhoud joins from C. Hoare & Co., where she was Head of Intermediaries. Prior to that she held roles at Coutts and with Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management in Geneva.

She said: “JH&P continued to deliver a really strong client service and investment performance through 2020, and the business is seeing the benefits. With the opening of the Edinburgh office, expansion in Leeds and growth across all parts of the business, this is an exciting time to be joining.”
