Doug joined JH&P as an Associate Financial Planner in November 2024. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He joins with over 30 years of experience working in the Financial Services industry in Cape Town, London, and Edinburgh. More recently, he headed up the Technical Department at an Edinburgh based IFA.

In his spare time, Doug plays lots of sport but particularly enjoys playing touch and tag rugby and squash. When he’s not playing sport himself, he is often watching it on TV. He also loves the Scottish Highlands and a summer (or even winter) BBQ. Doug is kept busy by his two children but if ever he has a bit of time to himself, he loves a good fiction book to temporarily escape. He is inspired by Henry Ford’s quote “Chop your own wood and it will warm you twice” and believes that gaining the trust of a client is imperative and is motivated to ensure they are on the right path to their objectives.
