James joined JH&P in December 2025 as a Portfolio Manager on the Professional Adviser Service (PAS) team. James started his career at Quilter Cheviot, where he was an Investment Manager managing private client portfolios, and prior to this was a Performance Analyst in their research department. He then worked at Emirates NBD London’s private bank as an Investment Adviser. James read Chemistry at the University of Nottingham and is a CFA Charterholder.

In his spare time, James enjoys playing squash and chess, and wheeling out the barbeque on a hot summer’s day. When it comes to portfolio management, James always thinks back to his favourite quote from Peter Lynch: “Selling your winners and holding your losers is like cutting the flowers and watering the weeds.”
