Charles was the Chairman and CEO of Calkin Pattinson & Co Ltd, which merged with James Hambro & Partners in 2012. He has been offering financial advice for over 30 years. He is a Diploma Member of the Personal Finance Society, and regularly appears in the national media, offering insight and expertise on various financial planning issues. Charles also holds the Financial Planning Certificate and the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute. He is motivated by the idea that he should always try to provide the service he wants for himself. His inspirations are his family and the Goethe quote, “There are two things you give your children, roots and wings.” Charles also believes in living and learning, looking to Gandhi’s infamous words: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”. He enjoys time outdoors and lives on a small farm in Wiltshire, which is being progressively rewilded.
