Business Analyst – 12 month fixed-term contract

Summary:
We are seeking an experience Business Analyst to join our Project team, on a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on strategic initiatives that will enhance client onboarding, improve functionality of core systems and support business growth. The ideal candidate will play pivotal role in bridging the gap between the business needs and technical solutions, whilst working closely with Project Managers to ensure that project deadlines are met. Responsibilities will include analysing and understanding a business problem or opportunity, within small, medium, and large projects. Once all requirements have been confirmed, the Business Analyst will be responsible for implementing the solution and ensuring thorough testing is completed.  

Responsibilities:

  • The Business Analyst will need to analyse and understand a business problem or opportunity. They will be required to work with the necessary internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand the requirements of a department or the organisation as a whole. The output from these sessions should then be analysed to validate and prioritise the requirements.
  • If working with a third-party supplier, the Business Analyst (BA) will need to accurately translate these requirements, into clear and actionable specifications so that the Supplier can use these to ensure their solution will align with the business needs.
  • Where necessary, the Business Analyst will need to determine the data required to facilitate the requirements. The Business Analyst should confirm and document which data points are needed and then this should be passed to the Business Solutions & Data Analytics teams for them to build.
  • Where it is required as part of a project, the Business Analyst will be responsible for designing new processes or recommending changes to existing workflows. The proposed changes should then be passed on to the Business Solutions & Data Analytics team for implementation.
  • Once the solution is available within UAT, the Business Analyst will be required to complete thorough testing which should cover both functionality and data. This testing should consider key business scenarios and should be well documented within testing plans.
  • The Business Analyst will also be responsible for creating guides where required and for holding training sessions across the business.
  • The Business Analyst should report progress to the Project Manager and where required to the Head of Project Management and COO.

Qualification:

  • Graduate or equivalent professional work experience.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3+ years relevant experience within the financial industry.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to summarise complex issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Good written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate on a technical level equivalent to your audience, including explaining features, benefits and risks associated with any suggested course of action.
  • Confident to engage in debate about the conclusions drawn, resilient in sustaining a logical argument under pressure, and to adjust or hold position as seems fit.
  • Confident with numbers, and able to convert them into meaningful words.
  • IT literate
  • Organised with attention to detail, such that appropriate customer outcomes are achieved and adequately documented.
