Summary:
We are looking to recruit an Operations Assistant to join our small, friendly Operations Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a keen interest in financial services to develop their skills in an operations role.   The primary focus of the role will be Control & Reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in regular cash and stock reconciliations.  The successful candidate may also gain exposure to Transitions & Corporate Actions, Dealing Operations Treasury & Pricing   The ideal candidate will have one year work experience in an office environment and is keen to gain knowledge of financial services or wealth management and has an interest in developing their knowledge by completing a professional qualification i.e. Investment Management Certificate (‘IMC’) or Investment Operations Certificate (‘IOC’). You will also have good IT skills, excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.  

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc tasks as allocated by the Operations Supervisors, in accordance with the firm’s documented procedures, including:
    • Control & Reconciliation
      • Daily cash reconciliations for all client bank accounts
      • Weekly/monthly stock reconciliations for all client custody pools and segregated accounts
      • QI and AEOI reporting
      • Tax reporting
      • Investment restrictions
      • Preparation of regulatory data returns
    • Transitions & Corporate Actions
      • Asset transfers
      • Corporate Actions
      • Proxy voting
      • Process internal cash transactions
      • Apply inbound cash to client portfolios
      • Transaction Reporting
    • Dealing Operations Treasury & Pricing
      • Placing collective trades
      • Trade settlement
      • Administration of transactions in collective investment schemes
      • Security pricing
      • Processing client payments
      • FX transactions
  • Perform activities for Harwood as required.
  • Update procedure documents when processes change.
  • Handle enquiries and escalate potential issues on a timely basis.
  • Any other task as required by the Head of Operations, Operations Manager or an Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to at least A level standard.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • One years’ experience of working in a team / office environment.
  • Keen to gain knowledge of financial services or wealth management.

Skills and Behaviours:

  • IT literate, including proficient in Excel and the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Good communication skills,
  • Organised with attention to detail,
  • Collaborative team player.
