James Horniman

Partner, Portfolio Manager

James joined James Hambro & Partners in 2013 and was named in Spear’s Magazine’s ‘Top 50’ list of high net worth wealth managers in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. In the publication’s latest list, James was listed as a Top Recommended wealth manager.

James started his investment career in 1993 at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management before joining HSBC Investment Management to work as a Director and Team Leader in UK Private Clients. In 2007 he joined UBS Wealth Management, where he managed assets worth more than £500m.

In his spare time and as an antidote to the rigours of industry regulation, James likes to write creative fiction and is in the process of finding a publisher for his first novel – a story developed from an enthralling experience on a jury for a murder trial at the Old Bailey in 2012.

At weekends and during long summer evenings James can be found tending to his garden in Hampshire with the support of his wife, dogs and eleven year old twins.

James is part of our Investment team and Professional Adviser Solutions team.

A wounded bull?

Bull markets are said to climb a wall of worry, and with this one now approaching its tenth birthday, the wall became steeper in 2018. Markets are a highly sensitive barometer…

The value of your investments and the income received from them can fall as well as rise. You may not get back the amount you invested.
