The value of your investments and the income received from them can fall as well as rise. You may not get back the amount you invested.

Thomas Allsup

Tom joined JH&P in 2013. When not looking after his clients, his focus is on understanding what drives successful businesses, meeting company management and conducting research to identify investment opportunities. Tom graduated with a first in History from Oxford University (Somerville) and has completed the CISI Diploma in Wealth Management. In 2020 and 2021 he was included in the Citywire Wealth Manager Top 30 Under 30. Tom’s motivation is trying to build portfolios that can compound capital at high rates over many years with minimal risk of upset. He believes it’s about making a small number of meaningful investments in predictable businesses that are under-appreciated and having the patience to keep hold of them. Combining this challenge with the day-to-day demands of client service is endlessly rewarding for him. Tom is inspired by Richard Feynman – safe-cracking, Nobel-prize winning physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project and played the bongos. He believes Feynman’s life highlights the power of curiosity, independent thinking and keeping a sense of humour. In his spare time, Tom enjoys running, outdoor swimming at the Parliament Hill Lido and reading widely.
