Edward Marsden
Portfolio Manager | Leeds
Ed joined JH&P in January 2020 and manages investment portfolios for onshore and offshore private clients, trusts, corporates, and charities. He started his career at Brewin Dolphin in 2007, before moving to Aberdeen Standard Capital as a portfolio manager in 2014. In both roles he has looked after an array of clients and was a key member of the Charity team managing investments for a wide range of charities in the North of England. Ed has a degree in Business from University of Northumbria, is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), he holds the CISI Wealth Diploma and is a trustee for the Yorkshire's Children's Hospital Fund.
Ed lives by the Bruce Springsteen quote – ‘When it comes to luck, you make your own’ – he finds that providing a good life for his family and being part of a great team working together are the biggest motivators. Ed subscribes to the notion that clients value someone with a positive mindset who is knowledgeable and always there to answer their questions. For him, service will always be key to providing a meaningful experience for clients.
In his spare time, Ed enjoys a range of sports including rugby, hockey, squash, but perhaps most notably plays in the Padel Tennis National League. His heart belongs in the Yorkshire Dales, especially on weekend walks in the countryside with his family and fox-red labrador Wilma.
